We are inspired by the physical. Therefore, our work begins with the physical architecture model in a form that can be better compared to the intuitive form of expression of the hand sketch.

Elements create the foundation for architecture. By dissecting, examining and reassembling the individual parts, something completely new arises. A comprehensive collection of models based on both found and built objects, that explores the deeper layers of architecture

Selection of Elements

Architecture grows out of individual parts. Building parts are taken out of their context to understand them as independent parts and especially to detach a particular cultural heritage or lack thereof. We are interested in looking at architecture as something that grows out of individual parts. We want to challenge and show the potential of the individual part in order to so gently influence the whole.

Plans of memories are a fragmented collection of elements or spaces from memory. Based on a special personal excerpt from the city of Madrid, a narrative must be recreated in floor plan. Like memory, the drawing can in principle be scaleless, but it must be based on a specific space or element. A special passage, a chapel, a corner, a window, a facade, a square, etc. The floor plans created from the memory of Madrid is then spatialized in a physical model.

We are fascinated by how the individual parts and the whole are connected in the building. We want to create an architecture that is legible. We believe that this can be achieved by understanding the material you are building with, and then building on the principles of the material.

The modular system

KEY STONES is an architectural exercise in designing spaces. Based on a given material and a number of architectural design principles, spaces are built up in model. The exercise works with the model as a tool that can be compared to the hand sketch's intuitive form of expression. One outlines spatialities in a physical model. A central stone at the summit of an arch, locking the whole together. The central principle or part of a policy, system, etc., on which all else depends
